“Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (formerly the Home Affairs Bureau) has launched the Community Involvement Projects on Maintenance (CIPM) since 2000-01.”

Background

“Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (formerly the Home Affairs Bureau) has launched the Community Involvement Projects on Maintenance (CIPM) since 2000-01.”The CIPM aims to provide sponsorship for non-governmental organisations to organise projects with a view to enhancing public awareness of the rights of maintenance payees and the services available to maintenance payees in the event of default payment by maintenance payers, as well as advocating the responsibilities of maintenance payers to comply with maintenance payment.

In past years, CIPM was launched annually and each project lasted for about six months, with a maximum amount of sponsorship of $60,000 for each project. Starting from 2023-25, CIPM will be launched biennially.  Each project shall be completed within 15 months with a maximum amount of sponsorship of $120,000.  By the end of March 2024, we have funded a total of 115 community involvement projects.
